Pros: Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Rugged, stylish, Value, Worn all the time, dude you're getting a timex!
Cons: does the perfect watch ever have 2 b discontinued?
"I bought one of these about 4 months ago. After 3 months I did indeed experience the top pin digging a trench into the plastic around the band. It was not repairable, however I sent it in to Timex and they sent me a Brand New replacement. Folks, you can't ask for more than a company to stand by their warranty. I was so pleased in fact, I went and bought the last one that the local store had so that I would not only have a back up watch, I would also be supporting the company. This is a good watch. In a world where watch makers use some pretty strange designs, this is the watch for me. I will be very sad when Timex discontinues this watch, but I hope it will stay on the market for 10 more years. Don't pass this watch by if you like it, it is worth it. If I had the money I'd buy a lifetime supply of these, but that would require 3 or 4 more. It is a good watch."

Happy with watch - not with band

"So far I have had this watch for a few years. I have had no complaints, the watch is durable and looks very nice to me.
My one complaint is the band. Like the other reviews here, I bought this because of the metal band (I always seem to break the rubber straps),but what I didn't realize at the time is the weak point on this band is the platic/rubber section that attaches to the watch body. If it wasn't for that, the watch would get 5 stars.
When I eventually broke the band at the weak point, the only place I could ger a replacement band was through Timex. Not necessarily a problem, it just takes longer than going to buy one locally."

"Everyone talks about the band being bad, its not the band just the plastic between the band and watch. I once hit the band with a 2 pound sledgehammer and it saved me a cracked wrist. Also I dont know about the water resistant part but the first ironman watch like this I owned, was dipped in 180 degree F oil and still worked for a year until it was lost in a four-wheeler crash. The watches that I still have all have alarms that go off simultaneously and ive had some for a few years."

"Pins that attach band to watch seem to be very weak. The top pin broke and the bottom pin is bent and the band is pulling away from the watch. Great watch other than the band problem, I can't find a replacement band anywhere."

"THIS is an awsome watch but i had the same problems with the band and the pins. I wore it and the pins fell out i tryed to reset the pins but they will not stay in I Love this watch and would love to find a way to replace the band>"

"My son loved this watch, but the pins in the band were faulty, and he lost it at the lake. We found it, but would love to replace the band."

Band Breaks

Cons: Quality, Value, weak band connection.
"Got this watch in early 2006 after being tired of plastic bands tearing off where they attach to the watch itself.
Same thing with this one.
They design a band strong enough to tow a truck yet attach it to the watch with useless rubber that over time gets brittle and breaks.
I was looking forward to a timex watch band actually lasting through the battery life for once, oh well."

"Looks great for day or night wearing. It is the easiest watch I have ever seen for timing things. The LAP 50 button is the best feature I have ever seen.
This Ironman watch just looks great with the stainless steel bracelet."
